We are undeniably at a critical time for our democracy, but while we keep talking about the next election being the most important one of our lifetime, we’re struggling to make those necessary changes to our culture of political organizing that will enable reform at the ballot box.
We have to get creative and personal about organizing. We have to shift our focus to strengthening our local communities – knowing our neighbors, building safe spaces, and deconstructing the systems that oppress us on a daily basis.
